About This Site
In a society where digitalization is advancing and lifestyles are undergoing significant changes, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT) formulated a DX Action Plan for the infrastructure sector in March 2022, promoting digital transformation in civil engineering operations.
Additionally, with the aging of civil engineers and the declining workforce in Japan, the necessity for **i-Construction** (ICT utilization in construction sites) and DX is increasing more than ever.
Under these circumstances, the handling of infrastructure data in **Okayama Prefecture** faces several challenges:
- Each department holds data individually and cannot effectively utilize it.
- Data such as facility ledgers must be collected from multiple systems.
- Large-scale data, such as 3D data, is transferred via hard disks.
These issues hinder the timely understanding of the current situation, policy formulation, and response efforts during large-scale disasters, including assessing damage and conducting recovery investigations.
To **overcome these challenges**, we aim to improve operational efficiency through the utilization of infrastructure data and establish an environment where both the public and private sectors can effectively use this data. This includes making some of the prefecture's infrastructure data available as **open data** and as **shared data** for collaboration with businesses.
To achieve this, we have developed and are operating **"Okayama i-Box,"** an **Infrastructure Management Platform** that integrates and manages diverse data in the civil engineering and construction fields.
Main Functions of Okayama i-Box
Data Catalog
Users can search for and download **infrastructure data** owned by Okayama Prefecture, which is published on Okayama i-Box.
2D Map Viewer
Users can overlay and visualize Okayama Prefecture’s infrastructure data on a map, allowing them to identify and download the necessary data.
3D Map Viewer
Users can view **point cloud data** owned by Okayama Prefecture in a 3D environment.
API
A free **API** is available for developers.
※ API usage requires account registration.
